The arrival of a baby to the family always supposes a radical change in the routines of the house. For both new moms and dads and those who already have experience in this field, it is clear that caring for a baby involves a change of pace.
kitchen tools like Food processors for babies are one of those devices that when you discover them you think… “How could I have lived without them!”.
How can a baby food processor help you?
Feeding a baby is a fundamental part of its development and good health. And, as far as parents are concerned, it’s one of the most time-consuming tasks. But did you know that there are food processors specifically designed to make it much easier for you?
For me, it was a real discovery. In short, these devices do for you just what you need to be more comfortable in the kitchen, and in much less time.
The main functions of a food processor for babies are:
- Steam food preserves all the nutrients and cooking liquids.
- Crush foods with different levels of thickness and textures to facilitate swallowing.
- Evenly defrost those other dishes for the baby that you had already prepared beforehand.
- Mix and beat to achieve more homogeneous and easy-to-digest textures.
- Heat the menu so that it is always at a suitable consumption temperature.
- Sterilize baby bottles and other small accessories.
Really, with all these practical features and how easy it is to use them. I don’t know how our mothers and grandmothers managed to live without food processors for babies.
In the market, you will find a large number of alternatives. I have made a selection of the 7 best food processors based on my experience of use. Here we go!
Analysis of the 7 best kitchen robots for babies
7. Multifunction 7 in 1 for Babies Steamer, Food Processor
A 7-in-1 baby food processor with touch controls and autonomous functions that allow you to have the menu ready in 15 minutes.
Feature
- Functions: Shreds, heats, steams, defrosts, and sterilizes.
- Programs: 7
- Capacity: 0.6 liters
- Servings: 3x120ml
As far as functions are concerned, it is one of the most complete robots in this comparison. Sweety Fox includes 7 functions that, both independently and in combination with each other, can save you a lot of time.
It’s a multi-function baby food processor that grinds, steams, heats sterilizes, defrosts, and even knows how to clean itself. I have to say that this last program is not very efficient. In the end, you always have to use the scourer.
Its 600 watts provide good heating power and ensure bump-free shredding. In any case, for a final touch to the purees, you have the pulse function and a manual shake system.
Although, the most practical thing is to let the robot work on its own, which boasts autonomy for a reason. Using its preconfigured programs, you will have the menu ready in 15 minutes and without any effort.
The jug has a good airtight lid and a very practical handle that will prevent you from burning yourself when handling it. However, it is a bit small, and that sometimes makes it difficult to use functions such as defrosting or sterilizing. It is not bad to prepare about 3 portions of 120 ml for each use. But if you like to cook in a big way, it is not the robot you need.
Sweety Fox offers a slightly smaller version, with only 6 functions instead of 7. It has the same capacity but uses a much more practical system for sterilizing bottles. In both cases, they are cheap robots with a price below 100 dollars.
6. Avec Maman – 4-in-1 Baby Food Processor, Steamer
Multifunction robot with a practical independent system for sterilizing bottles and digital control with timer for cooking freely.
Feature
- Functions: Steam cooks, heats, defrosts, crushes, and sterilizes bottles.
- Self-cleaning: No
- Programs: 4
- Capacity: liters
- Servings: 2-3(250/300ml)
Its design is not as original as that of the Sweety Fox. Although it does not have as many functions, its price is very similar. It is a fairly basic 4-in-1 baby food processor (steaming, grinding, heating, and sterilizing bottles) very much in line with the previous one.
Its capacity is still somewhat limited if you have twins or if you want to cook many portions at once. With the jar full of ingredients for cooking, calculate that you will get between 2-3 generous portions (about 250-300 ml).
The independent bottle cleaning and sterilization system are striking. It is wide enough to fit the bottle without problems (a complicated thing in the Sweety Fox), but it indeed takes a while to heat up. If you’re in a hurry, use the microwave instead.
By having the functions divided into two modules, it is not exactly a compact model. Even so, if you do not plan to travel with it, it is a robot of standard dimensions and suitable for kitchens with reduced space. With this, you save yourself the inconvenience of working with several kitchen pots at the same time.

5. Robot Kitchen Baby Food Processor Puree Blender
Robot capable of cooking and grinding at the same time to obtain a better-integrated puree and keep it warm for 24 hours.
Feature
- Functions: Heats, sterilizes, grinds, and steams.
- Programs: 7
- Capacity: 0.6 liters
- Servings: 400 gr
Editorial Review
The Grownsy baby food processor is very similar to the Avec Maman, in the line of cheap kitchen robots under 100 dollars. However, it has a more efficient blade system and the ability to keep the contents warm for 24 hours. This way you always have your baby’s food ready to serve.
The bottle heating and sterilization system is identical to that of the Avec Maman. They are functions independently of the food processor. They are quick and convenient and prevent you from depending on other appliances or the microwave.
This food processor and warmer include a total of 7 functions. To those already mentioned is added that of crushing, heating, and mixing in a jar large enough to prepare 400g of porridge.
The buttons are tactile and are integrated into the bottle warmer module. Intuitive and accessible controls are linked to a timer, so you know what the selected program is missing while it works autonomously.
It does not have a recipe book, but in the instructions, it includes a table with the cooking times with which you will never fail. And if you notice that the result lacks a final touch, you can always resort to manual mode.

Other important information you should know
- It can automatically grind and mix when cooking is finished.
- It is not necessary to remove/insert the blades depending on the function used.
- Reminder functions when it lacks water.
- Dimensions of 35.9 x 30.9 x 17.2 cm and weight of 1.89 kg.
4. Philips Avent 4-in-1 infant food processor
Compact design baby food processor with a large capacity jar that you just have to turn to go from cooking to mashing.
Feature
- Functions: Cook, mix, grind, defrost, and steam.
- Programs: 4
- Capacity: 0.75 liters
- Servings: 720 gr
Editorial Review
What is most striking about this 4-in-1 robot is the originality of its operation. The Philips Avent jug works on two sides: on one it cooks, heats, and defrosts, but you just have to turn it upside down to turn it into a grinder and mixer.
It is a very comfortable system, but the Grownsy also cooks and grinds without the need to transfer the food. It does not require any intermediate steps as well as it also has a somewhat cheaper price. However, it cannot compete with the capacity of this Philips.
Despite being a compact robot, the glass has a capacity of 1,000 ml for steam cooking and 720 ml for blending liquids. This will allow you to prepare the rations of the day and freeze some more.
It also includes a very practical recipe book that you can expand if you download the Philips Easy Weaning application. Of course, it would be more practical if it were in Spanish. You can start studying languages in those little moments in which this robot works autonomously.
There is another simpler Avent model just for steaming and blending. And a third, more traditional version that includes a module for heating/sterilizing bottles, similar to the Growsy and Avec Maman.
Other important information you should know
- The included storage container fits perfectly in the carafe for defrosting/heating.
- Recipes prepared by nutritionist Emma Williams.
- Dimensions of 19.4 x 24.5 x 36.8 cm and weight of 2.47 kilograms.
3. BEABA Babycook Solo 4-in-1 children’s food processor
The most compact baby food processor in comparison is a good option to prepare your baby’s food in a few minutes while you are on the go.
Feature
- Functions: Steam cooks, mixes, crushes, and defrosts.
- Programs: 4
- Capacity: 1.1 liters
- Servings: 4-5 servings of 150-180 m
Editorial Review
Babycook is a well-known name among children’s kitchen robots. The Solo model does not offer outstanding features compared to other options in this comparison, but it can boast of being the most compact.
It’s great if you have a small kitchen or plan to take it on a trip and don’t mind doing it without the bottle warmer/sterilizer. Its 1,100 ml jug is above average. In very little space you can prepare several portions at once.
It is an easy-to-understand device that works in automatic mode, so you do not have to be aware of cooking. Although it fulfills 4 essential functions (it steams, grinds, mixes, and defrosts), it seemed too basic for its price (about 120 euros).
The Beaba Babycook series includes different models. If you give priority to capacity, you will be interested in the Babycook Duo, provided with two 1,100 ml jars. And if what worries you is the quality of the materials, the Babycook Neo, made of stainless steel and with a glass jug, will meet your expectations. Neo also allows you to modulate steam and thus control electricity consumption.
Other important information you should know
- Recipes prepared by the psychologist and nutritionist Laurence Haurat.
- The function of crushing/mixing by the impulse to obtain different textures.
- Power up to 400 w (depending on function).
- Dimensions of 24 x 18 x 24 cm and weight of 1.85 kg
2. Babymoov Nutribaby 6-in-1 Multifunction Robot
Prepare each ingredient separately in the separate cooking baskets of this large-capacity baby food processor for large families and demanding menus.
Feature
- Functions: Heats, steams, defrosts, whisks, and sterilizes.
- Programs: 6
- Capacity: 0.6 liters
- Rations :
The Babymoon Nutribaby is one of the most complete children’s robots on the market, both for its capacity and its 6 pre-programmed functions: heating, steaming, defrosting, and beating. You can even cook eggs!
Since it involves an investment of about 135 dollars, its versatility seems right to me. You can take advantage of it even when you no longer have to prepare baby porridge daily. It is a useful children’s robot in preparations for the whole family.
The highlight is that it consists of two parts that work independently: a modular part for steaming food and another for grinding and blending. The downside is that all of this takes up considerable space in the kitchen.
The Nutribaby series includes a lower model (Classic) with slightly less capacity and 5 functions instead of 6. On the contrary, a higher model (Plus XL), with its capacity of almost 3 liters is ideal for cooking large quantities, such as the baby and for the rest of the house.
Other important information you should know
- Blender with 3 speeds to adapt to different grinding needs.
- Power up to 500 watts (depending on function).
- Dimensions of 39.4 x 25 x 31.4 cm and weight of 3.8 km.
The best kitchen robot for babies of those analyzed. Work twice as hard to get a much larger menu in half the time and without the need for supervision.
Feature
- Functions: Steam cooks, grinds, heats, and defrosts.
- Programs: 4
- Capacity : 2 x 1.1 liters
- Rations :
The Babycook duo is a simple-to-use 4-in-1 robot in which everything is controlled by a single wheel: it steams, blends, heats, and defrosts. However, for a similar price, Nutribay seems more complete in terms of pre-programmed functions and preparation possibilities.
Cooking is automatic and does not require supervision. There are 15-30 minutes that you can dedicate to whatever you want because, at the end of the process, the device notifies you with a light signal and a beep. It’s a shame it doesn’t have a timer screen for more control.
Thanks to the two large-capacity jars you can carry out simultaneous cooking and mixing/crushing preparations. But don’t get confused: although both have blades, only one of the two sides of the device is enabled for shredding.
Filling the water tank for steam cooking is a bit cumbersome, and you also have no reference to the amount that remains. For a robot of 200 dollars, they could have taken a little more care in this aspect.
Babycook Duo is available in various colors and finishes. But if what you want is to make a qualitative leap, you can switch to the stainless steel Neo model. It is the only one in the series with a glass jar and also includes steam control.
Other important information you should know
- The texture of the puree can be adapted to the different stages of feeding.
- The jugs can be used independently.
- Power up to 400 watts (depending on function).
- Dimensions of 37.4 x 24 x 18 cm and weight of 2.73 kg.
Baby Food Processor Buyer’s Guide
Do you have any doubts left? In this guide we solve them.
What is a baby food processor and what are its advantages?
A food processor for babies is a device used to prepare a menu adapted to the characteristics of chewing, swallowing, and digestion of babies when they start to drink something other than milk. They are devices for processing, cooking, and heating food, but unlike typical kitchen robots, these always have infant feeding as their objective.
These kitchen robots use a cooking mode called steam cooking. Apart from basic functions such as grinding and heating, some models include sterilizing items. That is put in the mouth or defrost dishes that you have already cooked.
Advantages of a food processor for babies
- Steam cooking better preserves all the nutrients in the food.
- Saving time and energy in the preparation of large quantities of food that you can freeze for another moment.
- More space in the kitchen. These robots allow you to do without a lot of pots and pans that take up too much space in cabinets and shelves.
- Versatility. As the baby grows you can use it for other types of preparations.
- Cooking with one of these robots is much more comfortable and simple: in a single container, you can do everything.

Do they need any kind of special maintenance?
These gadgets are not only easy to use but also won’t give you much of a hassle in terms of maintenance. The only thing you should keep in mind is that you have to decalcify it periodically.
Normally this process is done every 6-8 uses and it does not have any complications: descaling liquid is introduced into the jug, it is left to stand overnight, it is rinsed and the jug is filled with water with the heating program. After a few minutes, the content is emptied, rinsed, and left to dry.
Do you prefer to do without chemicals? You can replace the descaling liquid with a good splash of vinegar. Be sure to rinse well with hot water so it doesn’t leave an odor.
Types of food processors for babies
Kitchen robots for babies can be classified into three large groups:
- Basic robots: they are the ones that carry out the two elementary functions, that is, steaming and grinding food.
- Multifunction robots: they add more facilities to the preparation of the menu thanks to other options such as defrosting, heating, or sterilizing.
- Advanced robots: they are multifunction robots capable of working autonomously. They have pre-programmed functions (some with automatic on and off) and you don’t have to be configuring the parameters every time you use them.
What should you consider when choosing a food processor to make baby food?
On the internet, there are countless models of kitchen robots for babies, and their prices are also very different. So that the purchase of one of these devices is the most adjusted to your needs. I recommend you consider the following characteristics:
- Use of the robot: To prepare creams and purees, all you have to do is choose a basic model: they all offer the function of steaming and blending. If you need extra help, you will have to resort to multifunction models.
- Capacity: Cooking for a baby is not the same as cooking for an adult. However, it never hurts to have a good capacity in the glass or preparation container. In this way, you can cook more quantities and freeze the leftover portions. The ideal is a capacity of between 700 – 1,000 ml.
- Power: A machine for making babies’ food is less important than conventional food processors. These preparations are much less demanding. With a motor power of 120 watts, it is already possible to chop steamed food and basic fruits.
- Safety: When using plastic materials, make sure they are free of BPA. Glass and stainless steel are much safer materials, but they are not as common in this type of kitchen robot.
- Recipe book: A recipe book, both physical and digital, will help you achieve more nutritious and better-prepared dishes.
- Size: If you do not have much space, opt for the most compact robots and take into account whether or not they carry accessories that also require storage. Small robots are also practical when you go on a trip.
A fast, comfortable, hygienic food processor for babies is a great help in more routine tasks. All that time that you don’t have to be aware of the stove, you can dedicate it to your baby!
